BIOGRAPHY

Aaron Mayorga is a Bronx-based visual journalist and writer. He has contributed to award-winning newspaper coverage while freelancing for Norwood News and The Riverdale Press, respectively, in 2017 and 2018.

An autodidact, Aaron is self-taught in photography, video editing, and graphic design. Aaron's journalistic work has been featured in HuffPost, Voices of New York, City Limits, Gotham Gazette, and the Everyday American Muslim project. Moreover, his freelance clients have included the Jerome–Gun Hill BID and Mosholu Preservation Corp., the Youth Assembly at the United Nations, and Organize for Justice (Movement School US).

Outside of photography, Aaron is a night-shift researcher for the Elias Sports Bureau, the global leader in sports statistics and official statistician of the NFL, MLB, and NBA among others. He's additionally associated with the community initiative Bronx Film 48, which aims to foster a supportive filmmaking community in the borough.
